Given Imaging Ltd

Given Imaging Ltd is an Israeli High-tech company. Given Imaging has pioneered the field of swallowable video capsule endoscopy with its PillCam technology. For GI physicians in clinics and hospitals, Given Imaging technology is now being recognized as the gold standard in detecting disease of the small intestine, resulting in more accurate diagnosis of a range of gastrointestinal disorders.

For patients, Given Imaging's PillCamTM Capsule Endoscope offers the first effective, patient friendly gastrointestinal endoscope on the market.

The first application for visualizing the entire 20-foot long small intestine was cleared for marketing by the European CE and the FDA in 2001 and has been used since then to diagnose a quarter of a million patients in more than 50 countries worldwide. The company plans to leverage its technology as a diagnostic platform for other areas of the gastrointestinal tract including the esophagus, the stomach and the colon. PillCam ESO for visualizing the esophagus was cleared by the European CE and the FDA in 2004, PillCam Colon is in clinical trials and PillCam for the stomach is in development.
