Reference materials for nanotechnology

The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Germany has compiled a website which lists all nanoscale reference materials that are commercially available worldwide.

Reference materials are the key to guaranteeing reliability and correctness for results of chemical analyses and technical measurements. The BAM list currently includes some 65 nanomaterials in 11 categories:

- Certified Reference Material (CRM)
- Quality Control Materials (QCM)
- Reference Material (not specified as CRM or QCM)

Categories

- Flatness
- Film thickness
- Single steps, periodic steps, step gratings
- Lateral X-Y-axis, 1-dim
- Lateral X-Y-axis, +2-dim, critical dimensions
- 3-dimensional
- Nanoobjects/nanoparticles/nanomaterial
- Nanocrystallite materials
- Porosity
- Depth profiling resolution
- Others

For every reference material there is a downloadable pdf data sheet that includes a link to the manufacturer.
